Six years is a long time to wait. Monday night at the Open Air Theatre, Khalid finally comes back to San Diego — his first headline show here since the 2019 Free Spirit World Tour. He's bringing Lauv along as a full co-headliner, meaning you're getting two complete sets for the price of one ticket. Khalid's set will span his whole era: “Location,” “Young Dumb & Broke,” “Talk,” “Better,” and material from his 2025 album After the Sun Goes Down. The Open Air Theatre is one of San Diego's best outdoor venues — 4,500 capacity, great sightlines, and a summer-night atmosphere that suits Khalid exactly.

Who Is Khalid?

Khalid grew up in El Paso, Texas, and released “Location” right before his high school graduation in 2016 — it went diamond. His debut album American Teen earned four Grammy nominations. Since then he's released Free Spirit, Sincere, and in 2025, After the Sun Goes Down, which incorporates more dance-pop energy. He's been nominated for seven Grammys, has over 35 billion streams globally, and was named one of TIME's Most Influential People in 2019. This is his first headlining tour since 2019.

What to Expect

Khalid and Lauv co-headline — both perform full headline-length sets, not a traditional opener/headliner split. Expect Khalid's setlist to be career-spanning: fan favorites from the American Teen era through After the Sun Goes Down, plus likely nods to collaborations (“Lovely” with Billie Eilish, “Eastside” with Halsey). Lauv's set will feature his catalog of emotionally-driven pop, including “I Like Me Better” and “i'm so tired…” VIP packages include early entry and additional perks.

The Venue

The Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre sits on the SDSU campus in the College Area neighborhood. It holds around 4,500 people and is one of San Diego's premier mid-size outdoor amphitheaters — bowl layout with reserved and lawn sections, solid acoustics, and a laid-back open-air vibe that makes summer shows feel exactly right.
