Switchfoot Bro-Am 2026

Benefit Party + Free Beach Fest

Switchfoot has been playing these events for years, and the Bro-Am has become one of the more meaningful annual traditions in San Diego — a rare thing where a genuinely good band does a genuinely good thing and pulls it off without any of it feeling performative. The 2026 Bro-Am is two events: the ticketed Benefit Party on Thursday, June 11, which is an intimate evening with the band, culinary food, an auction, and a live Switchfoot performance; and the free Bro-Am Beach Fest on Saturday, June 13, at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. All proceeds benefit nonprofit organizations serving unhoused and at-risk youth in San Diego.

Switchfoot Bro-Am 2026 Benefit Party and Beach Fest Moonlight Beach Encinitas San Diego

🎤 Bro-Am Benefit Party — Thursday, June 11

The Benefit Party is the fundraiser's main revenue event — a ticketed evening described as “more rock 'n roll than gala.” The format includes culinary bites and specialty sips (more than just passed apps — think a proper food experience), an exclusive auction featuring items you can't get elsewhere, a live Switchfoot performance in an intimate setting, and actual time with the band.

This is not a formal gala with round tables and silent auctions. The Bro-Am crew is deliberate about keeping it more like a cool industry party than a charity dinner, and the band's own presence makes it feel like an event, not an obligation. Tickets go through the Bro-Am Foundation at broam.org. This event typically has limited capacity.

🏖️ Bro-Am Beach Fest — Saturday, June 13 (FREE)

The Beach Fest is the community-facing, free side of the Bro-Am. It happens at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas — one of the most beloved beaches in North County San Diego — and it's completely free and open to all ages.

  • Live music — Switchfoot performs, along with other invited acts
  • Surf contests — competitive surfing heats throughout the day
  • Interactive experiences — hands-on activities for kids and adults
  • Vendor villages — local vendors, food trucks, and community organizations
  • Beneficiary moments — the Bro-Am invites kids from supported nonprofits to attend and participate
Admission: FREE and open to all ages. Bring your own reusable water bottle — the BYO policy is taken seriously and there are water refill stations throughout.

❤️ The Switchfoot Bro-Am Foundation

Switchfoot — Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Jerome Fontamillas, Drew Shirley, and Chad Butler — are from San Diego. The Bro-Am Foundation was born from their connection to the city and its surf culture, and the mission is specific: provide grants to nonprofits serving unhoused, at-risk, and disadvantaged youth in San Diego, with a focus on programs related to music, art, and surfing. The Foundation is a 1% for the Planet partner — a portion of revenues also goes to environmental causes.
