Padres vs. Cincinnati Reds at Petco Park

June 8–10, 2026 — Three Games, Three Reasons to Go

Three straight home games to open a big San Diego week. The Reds are a competitive NL Central club, and all three nights come with their own reason to go. Monday is a heritage night. Tuesday is bobblehead night — the Bogey Bobblehead gets limited to the first 40,000 fans, so plan to arrive early. Wednesday's 1:10 PM first pitch is as close as a Padres game gets to a secret: easy parking, short lines, afternoon sunshine, and out by 4.

⚾ Monday, June 8 — Filipino Heritage Celebration Night (6:40 PM)

Monday starts at 6:40 PM. This is a theme game night honoring the Philippines and the large Filipino community in San Diego — one of the biggest Fil-Am populations in the US. A limited-edition Padres-themed hat with a Filipino design is included with the theme game package, purchased separately at Padres.com/ThemeGames. Regular game tickets are available without the hat via the usual channels.

Monday games are typically the lightest-attended of the week — easier parking, shorter concession lines, more room to spread out. If you're bringing a group and want flexibility over footprint, this is the night to go.

Note: The Filipino Heritage hat requires the theme game package — you cannot swap a regular ticket for the hat at the gate. Buy through Padres.com/ThemeGames.

⚾ Tuesday, June 9 — Bogey Goes Boom Bobblehead Night (6:40 PM)

Tuesday's 6:40 PM game is the one that'll move tickets: the Bogey Goes Boom Bobblehead featuring Xander Bogaerts, presented by Palomar Specialty Insurance. First 40,000 fans get one. Petco Park holds 42,445 — so the window is tight but real, meaning arriving 30–45 minutes before gates open is the play.

Bogaerts (nicknamed “Bogey”) is one of the most popular Padres in recent years, so this bobblehead will be a hot commodity for collectors. Standard game tickets don't include the bobblehead — the giveaway is for anyone in the building in the first 40K, regardless of seat location.

Pro tip: Gates typically open 90 minutes before first pitch — around 5:10 PM on Tuesday. Arrive at gate opening to guarantee your bobblehead.

⚾ Wednesday, June 10 — Remote Work Wednesday Matinee (1:10 PM)

Wednesday's first pitch is 1:10 PM. That's an afternoon work-from-the-ballpark situation — the Padres call it Remote Work Wednesday, and it draws a relaxed, mixed crowd. Plenty of families, retirees, and fans who burned a half-day PTO. Parking is easy on a weekday afternoon, concession wait times are short, and you're out before evening traffic.

The upside: better sightlines, easier access to the park's best food spots, and you're actually watching baseball instead of fighting a crowd. If you want to do both the County Fair AND a Padres game the same day — County Fair opens Wednesday. Start with the 1:10 PM game, wrap up by ~4 PM, then head to Del Mar. It's 20 minutes up I-5.

🚇 Petco Park — Parking & Transit

  • Address: 100 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101
  • Transit (best option): The Green and Orange trolley lines both stop at Gaslamp Quarter station, one block from Petco Park. Park-and-ride is a genuine option from Mission Valley or SDSU.
  • By car: Petco Park is in downtown San Diego. Street parking exists but is limited. The best options are the lots directly adjacent to the park — arrive 60+ minutes early for Monday and Tuesday evening games. Wednesday afternoon is much easier.
  • Walking: If you're staying downtown, the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, or East Village neighborhoods are all walkable to Petco Park.

🍔 What to Eat at Petco Park

Petco Park's food scene is one of the better ballpark food experiences in the major leagues:

  • Hodad's in the Park at the Park: the San Diego burger institution has a location inside the park.
  • Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens at right field: local craft beer, nice view of the outfield.
  • Seaside Market in the Western Metal Supply Co. building: butcher-quality sandwiches and local provisions.
  • Randy Jones BBQ: classic baseball BBQ with solid brisket and ribs.

💡 Insider Tips for the Padres-Reds Series

  • • If the bobblehead on Tuesday is your reason for going, arrive at gate opening (around 5:10 PM).
  • • The Filipino Heritage hat on Monday requires the theme game package — you cannot swap a regular ticket for the hat at the gate.
  • • Wednesday's 1:10 PM start means you should account for midday downtown parking — it's easier than evenings but some lots charge flat rates.
  • • The Reds are a legitimate NL team — expect competitive baseball rather than a guaranteed blowout.
  • • Combine with County Fair: Wednesday game wraps ~4 PM, then head to Del Mar (20 min on I-5) for County Fair opening day.
